Nigeria’s Moniepoint expands beyond payments with Orda Africa acquisition

Nigerian fintech firm Moniepoint said on Monday it had acquired Orda Africa, a platform that helps restaurants manage payments, orders and inventory. The financial terms were not disclosed.

The deal is part of Moniepoint’s push to expand into integrated business services, with a focus on Nigeria’s restaurant sector.

Orda Africa’s chief executive, Guy Futi, said the combination would allow the company to move faster, invest more and offer improved tools to support businesses.

Gradual integration into Moniepoint’s ecosystem

Founded in 2020, Orda Africa builds software for independent restaurants, enabling them to track orders, manage kitchen operations and monitor inventory. The deal will combine these tools with Moniepoint’s services, including payments, credit access and business analytics.

The platform will continue operating as is, with its existing teams and products, before being gradually integrated into Moniebook, a solution launched by Moniepoint in 2025 to centralise sales, payments and accounting.

For now, the acquisition covers Orda Africa’s Nigerian operations, although the company also operates in Kenya. Futi said the combination would speed up the platform’s growth and strengthen services for restaurant operators.
