Yogo Dubois
Vice President Central and Lusophone Africa

Yogo Dubois
Vice President Central and Lusophone Africa
Mr. Yogo Dubois is a trailblazing entrepreneur and innovator in the African financial technology (fintech) sector, recognized for his extraordinary ability to expand digital finance and promote financial inclusion across Sub-Saharan Africa. As the Co-founder and CEO of Onafriq RDC SA (formerly MFS Africa RDC SA) and Rego, Inc.—and as President of the DRC Fintech Association—Mr. Dubois has consistently demonstrated visionary leadership and a deep commitment to transforming financial services for underbanked populations. Early Leadership and Founding of Onafriq RDC SA Mr. Dubois’ journey into fintech began with the co-founding of Onafriq RDC SA in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Under his guidance, Onafriq secured the first Payment Aggregator License and later the Financial Messaging License from the Central Bank of Congo, milestone approvals that allowed the company to offer cross-border and domestic digital payment services. Operating in a highly fragmented regulatory environment, Mr. Dubois navigated ambiguous regulations—initially written for traditional financial institutions—to enable compliant, cutting-edge fintech solutions. Within 34 months of launching its Onafriq platform, the company processed over $350 million in cross-border remittances and brought financial services to more than 16 million mobile wallet users. This success story reflects Mr. Dubois’ ability to combine technological innovation, operational expertise, and an unwavering commitment to financial inclusion—particularly vital in a nation where fewer than 20% of the population have access to formal banking. Leadership in Fintech Associations and Global Recognition Beyond his roles as CEO of Onafriq and Rego, Mr. Dubois is a leading figure in shaping fintech policy and advocacy. He is the Founder and President of the DRC Fintech Association, where he collaborates closely with regulators to create conducive frameworks for new fintech entrants. Through his efforts, fintech companies are better able to engage with the Central Bank of Congo, address compliance requirements, and champion financial inclusion initiatives across the country. His influence extends continent-wide: Board Member of the Africa Fintech Network, where he contributes to shaping strategic fintech roadmaps across Africa. Member of the Alliance of Digital Finance and Fintech Associations (DFA), enabling him to engage in high-level discussions with global stakeholders on regulatory reform, digital finance trends, and cross-border payments. In recognition of his leadership, Mr. Dubois has received the Digital Influence Plus Award from the National Agency for Digital Transformation (ADN), honoring his role in advocating for digital financial solutions and advancing the fintech ecosystem in the DRC. Regulatory Expertise and Industry Impact What sets Mr. Dubois apart is his extraordinary regulatory acumen—a necessity for any fintech leader operating in emerging markets. He has mastered the complexities of fragmented legal frameworks, ensuring that companies under his leadership adhere to Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) guidelines across multiple African jurisdictions. Through persistent dialogue with central banks and policymakers, Mr. Dubois has established a blueprint for fintech firms seeking to operate legitimately in challenging regulatory environments. Underpinning all of his work is a dedication to financial inclusion. By opening up the digital economy to those previously left out, Mr. Dubois’ initiatives positively impact millions of individuals—fostering economic resilience, supporting diaspora remittances, and enabling countless entrepreneurs to expand their businesses. Ongoing Vision and Legacy Mr. Dubois’ commitment to fintech innovation, regulatory compliance, and social impact has solidified his standing as a visionary within Africa’s rapidly evolving digital finance landscape. As CEO of Rego, Inc., he continues to drive product development, secure strategic partnerships, and raise capital to deepen the company’s reach. Meanwhile, his leadership in associations like the DRC Fintech Association and the Africa Fintech Network underscores his role in shaping the future of finance in Africa and beyond. In sum, Mr. Yogo Dubois’ career exemplifies the power of visionary leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering dedication to bridging financial gaps in underserved regions. His pioneering work at Onafriq, ongoing innovations at Rego, and advocacy for fintech-friendly regulations have not only made him a respected figure in Africa’s fintech ecosystem but also a global influencer in the pursuit of equitable financial solutions.
