Senegal Explores Deeper Partnership with Visa to Boost Financial Inclusion and Digital Innovation
Senegal is exploring a deeper collaboration with global payments company Visa to accelerate financial inclusion and digital innovation in the country.
The discussions took place on March 10, 2026, when Senegal’s Minister of Communications, Telecommunications and Digital, Alioune Sall, met with Aminata Kane, recently appointed Senior Vice President of Visa for the West and Central Africa region.
During the meeting, the minister congratulated Kane on her appointment, describing it as a recognition of her professional achievements and a reflection of Senegalese female leadership on the global stage.
Discussions between the two parties focused on several strategic areas of cooperation, including the possible opening of a Visa office in Dakar and increased collaboration to support Senegal’s growing fintech ecosystem. Other areas of interest include support for the Delivery Unit of the Ministry of Communications, Telecommunications and Digital and contributions to the implementation of Senegal’s New Technological Deal, a national initiative aimed at accelerating digital transformation.
