NIBSS unveils free financial services journal

The Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc has launched a quarterly digital journal aimed at shaping conversations around the future of payments and financial services in Nigeria, Africa and beyond.

The inaugural edition, themed “Redefining the Future of Payments,” focuses on the technologies, policies and innovations reshaping digital payments and financial services.

NIBSS disclosed this in a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Thursday.

According to the statement, NIBSS Digest will provide a platform for regulators, financial institutions, fintech companies and other stakeholders across the financial ecosystem to share insights on developments shaping the payments industry.

Head of Corporate Communications at NIBSS, Adewunmi Oshilaja, said the publication was created to broaden discussions on the role of payment systems in economic development.

“NIBSS Digest was conceived to broaden the conversation around payments, shifting the focus from simply moving money to actively moving economies,” Oshilaja said.

He said the rapid evolution of payment ecosystems made it necessary to create a platform where regulators, financial institutions and technology innovators could exchange practical insights.

“As payment ecosystems rapidly evolve, establishing a unified platform where regulators, financial institutions, and tech innovators can share actionable insights is vital,” he added.

The maiden edition examines how interoperable, intelligent and inclusive infrastructure can support sustainable economic growth.
