Ghana to Assist Malawi in Digital Transformation Drive Following Bilateral Talks
The Malawi government has invited Ghana to support the rollout of digital innovation systems in the southern African country, following Ghana’s growing reputation as a leader in digital transformation across the continent.
The invitation was extended by Shadric Namalomba, Malawi’s Minister of Information and Digitalisation, during a bilateral meeting with Samuel Nartey George, Ghana’s Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, at the ongoing Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Spain.
Speaking in an interview with Techfocus24 after the meeting, Mr George revealed that the Malawian government is seeking Ghana’s support to replicate the country’s digital innovation success across several sectors.
According to the minister, the request follows Ghana’s recent engagement with Zambia during a state visit by John Dramani Mahama, where a delegation of 12 Ghanaian technology and fintech firms accompanied the president.
