The Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc (NIBSS) has successfully executed the first live transaction on the National Payment Stack (NPS).
According to a statement dated November 7, the milestone transaction occurred on Friday at 11:56 am between PalmPay and Wema Bank.
NIBSS described it as the dawn of a new era of seamless, secure, and inclusive financial transactions.
The NPS, unveiled by NIBSS on June 17, is a next-generation payment infrastructure designed to transform Nigeria’s instant payment ecosystem and shape the future of digital transactions.
It is intended to replace the current NIBSS Instant Payment (NIP) platform, providing enhanced value, greater scalability, and an improved customer experience across the payment ecosystem.
